but here's the thing about my grandfather. underneath this ceremonial role, he was really modest and really introverted -- so much so that when he delivered these sermons, he had trouble making eye contact with the very same congregation that he had been speaking to for 62 years. and even away from the podium, when you called him to say hello, he would often end the conversation prematurely for fear that he was taking up too much of your time. but when he died at the age of 94, the police had to close down the streets of his neighborhood to accommodate the crowd of people who came out to mourn him. and so these days i try to learn from my grandfather's example in my own way.

so i just published a book about introversion, and it took me about seven years to write. and for me, that seven years was like total bliss, because i was reading, i was writing, i was thinking, i was researching. it was my version of my grandfather's hours of the day alone in his library. but now all of a sudden my job is very different, and my job is to be out here talking about it, talking about introversion. (laughter) and that's a lot harder for me, because as honored as i am to be here with all of you right now, this is not my natural milieu.

so i prepared for moments like these as best i could. i spent the last year practicing public speaking every chance i could get. and i call this my “year of speaking dangerously.“ (laughter) and that actually helped a lot. but i'll tell you, what helps even more is my sense, my belief, my hope that when it comes to our attitudes to introversion and to quiet and to solitude, we truly are poised on the brink on dramatic change. i mean, we are. and so i am going to leave you now with three calls for action for those who share this vision.

melody of youth

ladies and gentlemen:

good morning! i am very glad to stand here and share the topic of “youth” with you. i come from and my name is maxfu. today my topic is “melody of youth”.

some people say that youth is a rising sun, carries infinite hope and irradiates dazzling light.

some people say that youth is a ball of blaze, flickers the flame of passion, dances the melody of youth.

some people say that youth is a roaring river, bursts out the voice of confidence, flows the boldness of youth.

some people say that youth is a fresh willow, has not only the endless tenderness, but also the iron will.

it’s true. youth is ought to be a life with great persistence, which is full of hope, enthusiasm, assurance, belief and keep striving during all your life.

since we know how wonderful the youth is, how can we build our own youth wonderful?

firstly, i think you should set an ambition. sam walton has told us: high expectation is the key to everything. ideals are the navigation mark and ambitions are the power for our striving.

secondly, i think you should think more. look before you leap, we are impetuous, if we consider everything calmly; there’s nothing that we can not do successfully.

thirdly, i think you should work hard. an idle youth,a needy age. when we are young we are supposed to struggle, to do everything by ourselves so that we can get more experience for our future. as it’s said the beautiful rainbow always appears after a ding-on and the wealthy harvest always comes from laborious tillage.

lastly, i think you should have a mood of optimism. being positive, when we meet the frustration, can help us learn how to he stronger. cause we are young, there’s no fail if only we try it again. don’t get dizzy with success, and don’t get upset with failure.

by the way, being in youth doesn’t only mean you are young at your age. youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind. when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

youth is a painting, which engraves by magnificent and wonderful color. youth is a song, which resounds with brightness and sweetness. when we are provided with passion and calm consideration, clinging goals and keep striving during all of our life. we can sooner or later have a perfect youth, a regretless youth, and make our melody of youth more and more wonderful!

that’s all. thank you!

you practiced over and over again; you wanted it more than anyone; you studied the hardest, but in the end, you still didn't succeed. each time you ask yourself, what happened and why. what i might suggest is that did you have a wrong attitude?

positive attitude helps us cope with the daily affairs of life more easily. it brings optimism into our life, and makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. if we adopt it as a way of life, it will bring constructive changes into our life, and makes us happier, brighter and more successful. with a positive attitude we will see the bright side of life, become optimistic and expect the best to happen. it is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and strengthening.

so next time, you will practice just as much, still want it just as much, will study just as hard. what will be different is that you will also put on a smile. a positive attitude might just be the one thing that you need to succeed!

带英语的演讲稿篇6

going back a few years ago, who would have guessed that boeing would trust another company, or group of companies, to do the detailed design and build of the wing of a brand-new boeing jetliner? but that is exact what we have done with the boeing 7e7 dreamliner. we have entrusted the critical work of building a boeing wing for the 7e7 to mhi of japan. or who would have guessed that one of boeing's biggest and most important programs in the defense arena would be one in which we aren't doing any metal bending or production at all? but that is the case with the army's future combat systems program, where boeing and saic are responsible for integrating the design and build of essentially all of the army's future platforms - everything that moves on the ground, in the air, or in space.

like many of your own companies, boeing is moving up the value chain and concentrating more intently than ever on a few core competencies. for us that chiefly means doing high-end design, engineering, and systems integration. we are not striving for self-sufficiency. to the contrary, our goal is to become a lean global enterprise that sticks to doing a few things exceptionally well and that is very adept at drawing upon the strengths and tapping into the best thinking and practices of other companies across the u.s. and around the world.
